The Bund Majiang rules are based on the Guóbiāo Májiàng (simplified Chinese: 国标麻将, literally National Standard Mahjong) ruleset that was created by the All-China Sports Federation in July 1998.
The rules for Bund Majiang have been simplified to improve gameplay, reduce randomness, and remove needless complexity.
